teamwork competitive analysis consulting communicationIn this case competition, you (the partner organization) will provide our students with a HR-related problem of your choice. Ideally, this should be an issue or question that will impact your business. The students will provide analyses and present solutions by applying skills and knowledge relevant to human resources.
Learners
The students will provide an insightful and thorough solution to present to judges in the form of a PowerPoint presentation. Through their presentations, they will be walking judges through a series of analyses (eg. SWOT analysis, SOAR, forecasts) that will tackle the main issue of the case competition. At the end of their presentations, each team will be presented with questions by the judges to which they can clarify any concerns the sponsors/judges may have.

Requirements
The University of Alberta Human Resource Management Association (UAHRMA) connects students with the people side of business. We provide resources for those students looking to explore careers where they can drive culture and strategy, and have a lasting impact on businesses and individuals alike. We focus on trying to bridge students with the professional HR industry by hosting various events such as case competitions, networking events and a resume review help session.
This annual case competition is targeted towards students in a wide range of disciplines within the Faculty of Business who have a passion for Human Resources and an interest in pursuing a career in this field.
From prior case competitions, as many as 40 students have participated in the event. They provide value and insight in regards to potential issues a company may be experiencing. The companies may be able to derive relevant solutions from students' presentations and ideas. It also provides companies the opportunity to network and connect with bright-minded individuals of whom could potentially be valuable partners and assets for these companies one day.
To partner with us, a representative from your company would need to attend the case competition in person at the University of Alberta (Alberta School of Business) on Thursdays, October 25, 2019 to evaluate and provide feedback on students' presentations.
Prior to the competition, you/the company must provide a sponsorship to help supplement and cover costs of the event. This amount may be negotiated through further contact.
